John Halterman is a best-selling author and nationally published blogger who has been featured as a financial expert on the TV programs of Brian Tracy and Jack Canfield, the author of Chicken Soup for the Soul. His expertise has been showcased on ABC, FOX, BRAVO, NBC, CBS, and A&E. He also serves as the expert host of WDTV News 5’s weekly segment Wisdom 2 Wealth, the WBOY Ask the Expert series, and WV Media’s Wisdom 2 Wealth Podcast, where he helps viewers gain clarity and confidence in their financial decision-making.
As a recognized authority in wealth management, John has been invited to speak and lead educational events for organizations such as Lockheed Martin, EQT, West Virginia University, Frontier Communications, Dominion Resources, MarkWest, the VA Hospital, and several federal government agencies. He has also presented nationally at Bill Good’s AdvisorCon, Horsesmouth Masterclass, and Income Conductor’s Trailblazer Forum, teaching advisors across the country how to elevate their client experience.
John is Sr. Wealth Advisor and Founder of Beacon Wealth Management, where he guides families through the firm’s signature Journey to the Financial Summit™ planning process. Known for his warm communication style and ability to simplify complex topics, he helps clients gain direction, make confident decisions, and move toward a secure financial future. With more than three decades of experience, John holds multiple professional credentials, including Certified Wealth Strategist, Accredited Investment Fiduciary, Certified Estate Planner, Chartered Federal Employee Benefits Consultant, Professional Plan Consultant, and Registered Financial Consultant. He is also a former member of Ed Slott’s Master Elite IRA Study Group.
A native of Weston, West Virginia, John served in the United States Air Force before beginning his career as a Wealth Advisor. He now lives in Bridgeport with his wife, Lisa. Married since 2005, they have three wonderful children. Outside of work, John enjoys giving back to the community, coaching youth sports, landscaping, architectural design, and adventuring West Virginia in the same mountains that inspire Beacon Wealth Management’s Summit-themed approach.
